What you need to know
This account MSCA is what everyone who is a Canadian citizen or authorized immigrate needs to have. The uses include the followings:

i. You can use it to access the Canada Revenue Agency’s My Account for Individuals if you have signed up.
ii. With this account, you will be able to check your Employment Insurance (EI) application status and messages
iii. You can as well use it to sign up for email notifications without restriction
iv. Those that have this account will be able to apply for Canada Pension Plan (CPP) benefits.
v. Also, those that have successfully applied for Canada Pension Plan (CPP) benefits will be able to see their contributions or get an estimate of your monthly benefits
vi. MSCA holders will be able to change their federal tax deduction for CPP or Old Age Security (OAS)
vii. When you have an account, you can give consent for someone to talk to CPP and/or OAS for you.
viii. With your account, you can see your tax slips and a record of your payments for EI, CPP, and OAS
Note the following
a. You need to have the personal access code (PAC) from Service Canada
b. This access code is a seven-character code that will keep your personal information secure and confidential
b. But if you have an EI access code, you can use it instead of using personal access code (PAC)

Before you register for My Service Canada Account (MSCA) account you have to have the following things ready:
– The first on the list is your social insurance number (SIN)
– The second is your date of birth
– While the third is your access code
But if you already have an access code then it means that you’ve applied for or are receiving Employment Insurance (EI), Canada Pension Plan (CPP), or Old Age Security (OAS). All you need here if you already have an access code is to visit this page http://www.esdc.gc.ca/en/msca/find_PAC.page and then follow the instruction given to retrieve your access code.
How to get a PAC: personal access code (PAC)
a. Connect your phone or computer to internet access and visit this web address https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/my-account/request-pac.html
b. On the page provide your Social Insurance Number, first name, last name, date of birth, and your parent’s family name at birth.
c. If you are a Canadian resident or your country of residence if you are a foreign resident then also provide your postal code.
d. It is important that you use a personal computer to perform this task and also make sure that the JavaScript of the browser you are using is enabled.
e. Once you apply online, your personal access code (PAC) will be mailed to you between 5 to10 business days
f. You can as well contact their customer response center anytime by calling 1-800-277-9914

Please take note of this!!!
If you are receiving Employment Insurance (EI), you can use your Employment Insurance (EI) access code instead of personal access (PAC) code to register for MSCA. Your Employment Insurance access code is on the first Benefit Statement you receive in the mail after you apply for it. But if there is an error and the code didn’t come in the mail then you have to call Service Canada at 1-800-206-7218. Also, those living outside of Canada will receive an Employment Insurance (EI) access code in the mail after applying for EI benefits.
My Service Canada Account Login
– You can use the same sign-in information you use for other online services
– But if you are using a joint bank account, only one of the two people who has registered jointly can register for MSCA with the shared account
– Note that the second person must use a different Sign-In Partner account or create a GCKey account
Another way to log in
– You can log in using GCKey user ID and password if you do not use one of the Sign-In Partners
– Those who have not registered have to sign up to receive a GCKey user ID and password
– You can use this information (GCKey user ID and password) to access other Government of Canada departments, ESDC/Service Canada and agencies.
– When one forgets an existing GCKey user ID he/she needs to create a new one
